• February 17, 2021 - Remake of Cozy Powell's "Dance With The Devil" feat. David Stone

    3MS Music are delighted to release a Garry Bowler [Magpie] re-invention of a left-field rock classic 'Dance With The Devil' originally recorded by Cozy Powell. The new version of the track, now titled 'Dancing With The Devil', will be made available digitally on 23 April 2021. This version features three musicians who worked with Cozy, Neil Murray (Hammer, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake) on bass, David Stone (Rainbow) on keys, Frankie Aiello (The Truth, Bedlam) on vocals and also the late, legendary guitarist Bernie Tormé (whose last recording this was).

  • January 16, 2021 - Joe Lynn Turner announcement about Sunstorm

    Frontiers Records released a statement in December 2020 that Joe Lynn Turner has a desire to work on heavier music styles and move away from the original melodic rock direction of the early Sunstorm albums. Ronnie Romero will now be the singer on the 6th Sunstorm abum. Joe Lynn Turner reacted with a long statement on Facebook telling this is "Absolutely Not True, and Fake News"

  • January 8, 2021 - Graham Bonnet reveals new solo album for release Summer 2021

    Graham Bonnet has announced that he is currently recording a new studio album with bandmates Beth-Ami Heavenstone (bass), Conrad Pesinato (guitar), and Mark Zonder (drums). In addition to the core band, special guests including legendary keyboardist Don Airey (Deep Purple, Rainbow) will be lending their talents to the album, with more names to be revealed in the coming weeks.

  • December 12, 2020 - Blackmore's Night To Release 'Nature's Light' Album In March

    On March 12, 2021, Blackmore's Night will release "Nature's Light", its eleventh studio album and the first in six years, via earMusic. The ten new tracks make for a quintessential Blackmore's Night album. "Nature's Light" will be released on multiple formats. Among these is a strictly limited 2CD hardcover mediabook edition, including a bonus CD. Furthermore, the album will become available as a CD digipak, a limited LP on yellow vinyl and also on black vinyl as well as digital.

  • December 4, 2020 - Alcatrazz Parts Ways With Founding Singer Graham Bonnet, Welcomes Doogie White

    Alcatrazz members Jimmy Waldo, Joe Stump, Gary Shea and Mark Benquechea will be joined by singer Doogie White for all their 2021 touring. The news of Alcatrazz moving forward with a new singer comes less than a month after founding Alcatrazz vocalist Graham Bonnet announced changes to the band's management. The other Alcatrazz members shot back with their own statement, saying they still represented by our manager Giles Lavery.

    Deep Purple is planning to enter the studio in 2021 to begin work on another album. Edel had run a contest to interview the band in conjunction with the Whoosh! release. Anssi Herkkola from Finland was the winner and got to speak with Roger Glover and Don Airey. The news of the legendary British rockers' upcoming recording activity was broken by bassist Roger Glover during this virtual meet-and-greet.

  • November 28, 2020 - Swedish Metal Musicians Pay Tribute To Ronnie James Dio On 'Legacy' Album

    A tribute album to legendary singer Ronnie James Dio made by Swedish metal musicians has just been released. Available on all streaming platforms now, this collection was originally intended to be released on CD on the five-year remembrance day of the legendary singer's passing in 2015, but a lot of small and big things got in the way. It includes tracks of Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio.

  • November 19, 2020 - Michael Schenker's New Version of MSG To Feature Ronnie Romero on vocals

    According to a post on Facebook by Gary Barden Michael Schenker has pulled the plug out of the Michael Schenker Fest. The brand new Michael Schenker Group album "Immortal", which is set to be released on Nuclear Blast on January 29, 2021 will feature Ronnie Romero (Rainbow) on vocals. Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Deep Purple, Rainbow) will be singing on two tracks, while Doogie White contributes also on one of the songs. Ronnie Romero revealed in an interview that he will be touring wirth Michael Schenker in the fall of 2021.

  • August 26, 2020 - Ritchie Blackmore Guests On William Shatner's Cover Of 'The Thrill Is Gone'

    William Shatner will release a new album, "The Blues", on October 2 via Cleopatra Records. The effort find the legendary actor deliver exactly what the title suggests: covers of blues classics. The LP's latest single, "The Thrill Is Gone", featuring iconic Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist Ritchie Blackmore on guitar and his wife, Candice Night, on background vocals.

  • August 25, 2020 - Purpendicular Announce "Sex & Money" Single Featuring ex-Rainbow Member

    Deep Purple tribute act, Purpendicular, are back with a new single featuring Paul Morris and Ernesto Ghezzi as well as a live version of "Somebody Done It" featuring Ian Paice on drums. The single, "Sex & Money", is the first release from the upcoming new album, which will hit the shops in early 2021. The new song features Paul Morris (ex-Rainbow) and Ernesto Ghezzi (Gotthard) as guest musicians.

    Z2, the premier destination for top quality music-based comics and graphic novels, has teamed up with the Ronnie James Dio estate to create a comic book based on the the cover art of DIO's classic debut album, "Holy Diver". Tentatively due in the summer of 2021, "Ronnie James Dio's Holy Diver" will be written by Steve Niles, with art by Scott Hampton and cover by Bill Sienkiewicz.

    Michael Schenker is currently in the final stages of recording a brand new Michael Schenker Group album, which is set to be released on Nuclear Blast on January 29, 2021. "Immortal" will feature a big list of friends and guests. The album's main vocalist will be uprising Chilean-born talent Ronnie Romero (Rainbow), along with Michael Voss (Mad Max), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear) and Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Deep Purple, Rainbow) singing on two tracks each. Romero announced his departure from the Spanish melodic progressive metal act in January 2019. In addition to Rainbow and Lords Of Black, Romero is also a member of The Ferrymen and Vandenberg.

  • May 16, 2020 - Ronnie James Dio's Long-Awaited Autobiography Is 'On Hold' During Coronavirus Pandemic

    Legendary rock journalist Mick Wall is working with Wendy Dio on the long-awaited autobiography of the heavy metal master, which was partially written before the singer's death and which was originally scheduled to be published several years ago. They were looking for the beginning of 2021 for the book's release, but now it's on hold, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Also tentatively due in 2021 is a documentary that will cover Dio's career from his early days with ELF to his final project, Heaven & Hell.

    Wymer Publishing has set a September 4 release date for "In The Shadow Of The Wizard: Rainbow 1975-1976". A full-color, 224-page A4 hardback coffee-table-style book, it comprehensively documents Rainbow's first formative period, including the recording of the first album, while Ritchie Blackmore was still a member of Deep Purple; the first North American tour; the making of the seminal "Rising" and the lengthy world tour that followed.

  • May 1, 2020 - Tokyo Motor Fist Returns With Second Album 'Lions'

    Tokyo Motor Fist, the band featuring vocalist Ted Poley, guitarist Steve Brown, bassist Greg Smith and drummer Chuck Burgi has re-signed with Frontiers Music. The follow-up album to the group's 2017 self-titled debut is expected sometime in 2020. The sophomore album, "Lions", will be out on July 10. Rudess was filling in for longtime Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey, who was being in hospital awaiting an operation and was unable to make the show.

    Uriah Heep keyboardist Phil Lanzon lost his eldest son Matthew to cancer just before Christmas. As a result, Phil will not be able to perform with Uriah Heep for two German shows next week: January 14 in Würzburg and January 15 in Frankfurt. Deep Purple's Don Airey has agreed to step up and cover for his old friend Phil for these two shows.

    Producer and master studio engineer Nick Blagona, a.k.a. "The Tone Guru," whose credits include Rainbow (Straight Between The Eyes), Roger Glover (The Mask) and Deep Purple (Perfect Strangers, House of Blue Light & Slaves and Masters), died Jan. 4 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. He was 74.
