Rainbow Champagne Blessing  "Kids, you were great, you all deserve a sip of my champagne" Ritchie Blackmore said at the end of a concert with his band Rainbow in Los Angeles to the fans. Ritchie of course had every reason to be happy: After the two-hour show the audience asked for one encore after another. "Since my time in Purple in the past I've not seen such enthusiasm. Now I know, I'm on the right way". An observant Rainbow roadie, who heard his boss's remarks, grabbed himself one of those reserved bottles of champagne for Ritchie and gave it on stage to his master. Ritchie in his turn uncorked the bottle, took one strong sip and baptized with the rest his fans on behalf of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. Pop Magazine, Germany - December 2, 1976  |
