38 Special
38 Special (also written .38 Special or Thirty-Eight Special) is an American rock band that was formed in 1974. The band's first two albums had a strong southern rock influence. By the early 1980s, 38 Special shifted to a more accessible arena rock style without abandoning its southern rock roots. 38 Special did in 1982 a co-headlining tour with Rainbow in May 1982.

Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. Pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Iron Maiden achieved initial success during the early 1980s. After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of US and UK platinum and gold albums. Iron Maiden was the support-act in May when 38. Special & Rainbow were co-headliners.
UFO
UFO is an English heavy metal and hard rock band that was formed in 1969. UFO became a transitional group between early hard rock and heavy metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. UFO was 1st support act early June with Riot as 2nd support act.
Riot
Riot was an American heavy metal band founded in New York City in 1975 by guitarist Mark Reale. Reaching a peak in popularity in the early 80s, the band has continued a long-running successful career. Riot was 2nd support act in June & later on in August.
Scorpions
Scorpions are a German rock band formed in 1965. Since the band's inception, their musical style has ranged from hard rock to heavy metal. Scorpions was 1st support act in Canada and some U.S Shows
Krokus
Krokus is a hard rock band from Switzerland. They enjoyed moderate success in North America during the 1980s. Former Eazy Money vocalist Marc Storace joined the band as frontman in time for their Metal Rendez-vous album in 1980. Storace did an audition for Rainbow in 1978/1979 but was not hired. Krokus was support on some shows in July.

The Rods are an American heavy metal band formed in 1978 by David "Rock" Feinstein. Feinstein had first come to mainstream attention after playing in Elf, with his cousin Ronnie James Dio. The Rods was 2nd support act in Largo MD.

Girlschool are a British heavy metal band originating out of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene in 1978 and frequently associated with contemporaries Motörhead. They are the longest running all-female rock band, still active after more than 35 years. Girlschool was support act in Springfield IL
Saxon
Saxon is an English heavy metal band formed in 1976, in South Yorkshire. They are considered as one of the leaders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Saxon was support act on the last part of the U.S Tour in August.
