Initially, he had a long career under his real name Michael Bolotin and then found success as the lead singer in the group Blackjack. The band released two albums during the 1970s but by 1983 he had launched a solo career as Michael Bolton. His debut album was Michael Bolton (1983), which was moderately successful. Unfortunately he did not maintain the momentum and his second album Everybody's Crazy was a flop. The Hunger was released in 1987 and became his breakthrough album. With it he abandoned his rock pretensions and concentrated on the power ballads for which he would become famous. Soul Provider was released in 1989 and became a huge hit, selling four million, winning a Grammy and spawning three hit singles. Everybody's Crazy is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Michael Bolton. The melodic hard rock/AOR album was released in 1985 by Columbia Records. The lead guitarist on the album is Bruce Kulick, later of KISS fame. The title track was a minor hit on hard rock radio stations, and it was also featured in the 1986 movie Back to School. The album is currently out of print in the U.S. It was reissued overseas in the mid-'90s with a then-current photo on the cover. While some have criticized the album, decrying it as the low point of Bolton's career (see Allmusic Guide link in the infobox to the right), many others have hailed it as one of the finest AOR-based/melodic hard rock releases from the '80s. The album was reissued on February 25, 2008 by Rock Candy Records, United Kingdom on CD with a 12-page full colour booklet with original and new artwork. Chuck Burgi uncredited on the original release, but listed on the reissue.
