He was the frontman of Neil Christian & the Crusaders in the early 60’s. Jimmy Page was the guitarist at that time but left in 1962. He was replaced by Albert Lee. Other (later) well-known members of the Crusaders were Mick Abrahams (Jethro Tull), Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple) and Nicky Hopkins. Christian’s debut single was the Joe Meek produced "The Road To Love" (1962). None of his singles made any (hit) impact. He was a little more successfull when he hooked up with songwriter/producer Miki Dallon and began recording for the independent label Strike Records. The label went out of business in 1967. Christian released his final single for Pye records in 1967.
